Rustic Relaxation in the Mountains

Rebecca and Todd’s journey has been one of adventure, exploration, and a love for the great outdoors. Originally from Denham Springs, LA, Rebecca joined the Air Force after high school, which took her to Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, HI. There, she met Todd, a formidable Marine from Readington, NJ, stationed at Camp Smith in Aiea, HI. Their shared passion for travel and sports quickly brought them together, and a few years later, they married and set out on a new adventure.

After Todd’s retirement, they spent the next decade traveling the country in an RV, embracing life on the open road. Along the way, Todd honed his hobby skills—captaining an air boat in the Everglades, hiking the Appalachian Trail (2015) in an impressive 103 days, and even renovating a school bus into their latest RV home. Rebecca, on the other hand, discovered a love for artisanal soapmaking, began experimenting with sourdough starters in the kitchen, and even took up bookkeeping out of a nerdy fascination with numbers.

Their travels led them to seasonal work as Park Rangers with the National Park Service, allowing them to spend time in some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes - Acadia National Park (Maine), Everglades National Park (Florida), Grand Teton National Park (Wyoming), and Glacier National Park (Montana).

Eventually, the call of the mountains led them to settle in Robbinsville - deep in the heart of Western North Carolina, on the doorstep of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Now, they spend their days hiking, cheering on LSU (Geaux Tigers), exploring, and sharing their love of nature through the rustic cabin rentals they built and manage. Their goal is simple: to offer a peaceful retreat where guests can experience the same beauty, adventure, and rustic relaxation that made them fall in love with this place.

Come stay, unwind by a fire, and discover the magic of the mountains with them.
